Eco-Tours

Eco-Tours are designed to share the exploration of our Earth Mother  in a respectful way.  We ask that no pets come as we are seeking to encounter wildlife without disturbing them.  Bring binoculars and cameras and plan to have a peaceful time enjoying the great outdoors.

We are not an outfitter, we do not charge for the sharing of these experiences.  You are responsible for your own safety and well-being.  We are not responsible for any accident, damage, loss, theft or any misadventure you may have.  We are simply seeking to share the experience of the great outdoors with likeminded folks.  We enjoy creating gourmet meals beside a bonfire and would love to share this with you as well.

Eco-Tour Dates:
May 5 and 6
Fort DeSoto Beach, Pinellas County, Florida - Join us for either day of kayaking and exploring what has been described as "the most beautiful beach in the continuous 48 States of America". This truly is an oasis of peace and tranquility at the lower tip of Pinellas County. We will be camping at the campground in the Fort DeSoto park. It is a full facility campground and fills fast, so make your reservations as soon as possible. Fort DeSoto Beach offers kayaks on concession at $20/hour. The campground fees are approximately $35/site.

May 8
Crystal River, Florida. This river is a well known manatee hang-out. We will spend the day kayaking on the river so pack a lunch and plan to spend a lazy day paddling! There are many mom and pop motels in this area - at this time we are not sure where we will stay. Drop us a note if you are interested in joining us for this paddle so we can coordinate meeting place.

May 9
Rainbow River, Dunellon, Florida. This is a spectacular river. No manatees here. Visibility is the clearest of any river I have ever paddled in. The Rainbow Springs State Park's campground is closed for renovation this year so camping there is not an option, but there are many mom and pop places around here too! If you can recommend a place drop us a note!

May 13
Little River, Floyd, Virginia. This sweet river is a favorite of ours. It meanders through some of the most spectacular areas of beautiful Floyd County! We will put in around 10 am at Sower's Mill Rd. and take out at the Montgomery County line bridge around 4 pm. Pack a lunch and plan for a swim in one of the many swimming holes we will encounter on our route. This is a very pristine river, we will limit number of participants to 8. Drop us an e-mail if you are interested. Water levels must be appropriate.
